The first savanna burning project approved under Australia's Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI) is about to receive carbon credits for the first time. Located 150 kilometres south of Darwin in the Northern Territory, the Fish River project uses early-season burning practices to reduce the amount of carbon released by late-season fires.
