Aboriginal land managers in the NT/SA /WA border region will build a ground breaking partnership aimed at reinstating a fire regime more closely aligned with that which traditionally existed. This will reduce the likelihood of destructive bushfires, restore vegetation diversity and protect threatened species habitat. It will also facilitate the intergenerational transfer of traditional fire knowledge. (Text from Caring for our Country funding - accessed 16 February 2012)
