This paper compares fire patterns between the Mount Isa Inlier bioregion and Cape York Peninsula. Approximately half of western Cape York Peninsula burns each year compared to around 10% of the Mount Isa Inlier. Differences in fire pattern were related to climate, particularly wet season rainfall.
