Management Project - Improving the management of soil erosion on pastoral properties of the NT

The project will deliver twelve two-day workshops over two years to improve the soil management practices of NT landholders. The focus will be on the Victoria River Downs, Roper Gulf and Barkly Districts. Workshops will include a practical component where participants can practice installing banks and drains using graders. Management Project - Making Production and Conservation Gains Through Adaptive Grazing: Beetaloo Pilot

This project will quantify the potential for sustainably intensifying production on the NT Barkly Tablelands through adaptive grazing principles. Producer trials will be established to demonstrate practices that increase herd productivity, contribute to soil carbon sequestration, maintain productive native pasture ecosystems and increase water use efficiency. Management Project - Conservation and Protection of the Sylvester Catchment from Parkinsonia

Pastoralists, Indigenous groups and experts will come together to control Parkinsonia, a Weed of National Significance, in the Sylvester catchment. A catchment based approach will be used to tackle outlier infestations in the headwaters and manage core infestations. Activities will include aerial survey, workshops, applying best practice treatments and developing long-term agreements with pastoralists.
