NT Agnote - Management of Grazing on NT Floodplains

Url:
www.nt.gov.au/d/Content/File/p/Technote/TN104.pdf
An article on grazing on NT floodplains, including information on the soils, vegetation, history of grazing and sustainability issues.

This report gives advice useful for the management of various categories of NT floodplains in relation to grazing. It covers Sub-coastal Plains, Marrakai and Finniss systems. Information on seasonal flood patterns, soil type and vegetation is provided for each. Advice is given on how to manage properties through maintaining a sustainable density of stock, planting additional cultivars and limiting access of stock to pasture so that areas can be spelled during the wet season.
