Coastal palm swamps occur in mesophyll and notophyll vine forests and can be dominated by one or both of the following palm species: the feather palm Archontophoenix alexandrae (also commonly known as Alexandra palm), and the fan palm Licuala ramsayi (also commonly known as licuala palm).
