Much needed rain has fallen in Queensland grazing country in the southern part of the central highlands. Falls from 25 to 125 millimetres have been recorded in the region after almost a week of wet weather. However the wet weather is not welcome in Australia's largest cane growing district, the Burdekin. (Thursday, 28/06/2012)

ABC Rural News: Rivers dry up in the Northern Territory

Url:
www.abc.net.au/rural/news/content/201205/s3492790.htm
Several rivers that would normally be running after the wet season in the Northern Territory are dry because of poor rainfall. The lack of surface water is causing problems for cattle station managers, as it means bores have to be run for longer and cattle chew out the land near the watering points. (Tuesday, 01/05/2012)
