The CSIRO have just completed a two-year research project documenting how indigenous groups feel about invasive plants. Dr Fiona Walsh, a research scientist based in Alice Springs, says it used six Indigenous ranger groups in case studies across northern Australia. (Monday, 18/03/2013)

Critically endangered Mabi forest on the Tablelands, which provides habitat for the region's iconic Lumholtz's Tree-Kangaroo, is under threat from a suffocating weed. With damaged pockets of Mabi forest left fragile after Cyclones Larry and Yasi, Turbina threatens to stop native regrowth reaching the canopy due to its opportunistic nature and vigorous growth rate.
