West Australians are being asked to use their smartphones to report pests and diseases in waterways. Victoria Aitken from the Department of Fisheries says the WA PestWatch app allows people to identify a potential threat, take a photo of it and report it instantly. (Wednesday, 17/05/2013)

ABC Rural News: Cyclone-prone community gets weather radar

The Bureau of Meteorology has installed a weather radar in the remote community of Warruwi on South Goulburn Island in the Northern Territory. Situated off the coast of Arnhem Land, the Goulburn Islands are a real hot spot for cyclones, and were severely damaged by Cyclone Monica in 2006. (Monday, 22/04/2013)
