This booklet, published by the Australian Government, provides guidance for engaging Indigenous people in planning. It stresses the need for Indigenous representation in regional planning; consultation with peak representative bodies; protection of culturally significant sites; recognition of land rights; Indigenous interests in land and water resources; consideration of legislative responsibilities; inclusion of all communities in all aspects of planning; and recognition of different approaches to planning across different cultures.
