Kutt, A. (2004) "Patterns in the composition and distribution of the vertebrate fauna, desert uplands bioregion, Queensland" PhD Thesis, James Cook University.

This study found the fauna of the Desert Uplands had primary affinities with that of arid areas, but also intergraded with coastal fauna. The eastern-most or western-most occurrence of several species are found in the Desert Uplands.
