Management Project - Restoring and maintaining wetland function and health of the Mungalla Wetlands

This project will use aerial applications of herbicide and re- introduce traditional burning practices for the ongoing management of the Mungalla Wetlands area. These techniques will also be used by the Mungalla Aboriginal Corporation to train Indigenous youth in land management techniques. The Mungalla Wetlands are an important part of the lower Herbert River Catchment which connects with National Parks and has direct run-off into the Great Barrier Reef Lagoon.
