This report acts as a proof-of-concept study for Northern Territory and Australian Governments to demonstrate the significant land clearing induced greenhouse gas emissions in the Daly River Catchment. The report maps estimated emissions from future clearing, as well as illustrating a simple method of both levying carbon pollution charges on land clearing and valuing the carbon storage services by landholders who don't clear.

This report, on the Australian Government's Department of Environment and Water Resources web site, describes a framework for land managers to balance environmental and economic considerations for their properties. It includes information on assessing production, economic and environmental impacts, and how they might trade off these impacts, before making decisions to change their management options. Six case studies are included to demonstrate how the framework can be used to model the financial and ecological impacts of different management practices in different rangeland regions.
